Unsettling Science

Science’s biggest fans sure get it wrong a lot. You’d think flubbing the process would be disrespectful. Constantly misinterpreting a faith’s doctrine seems blasphemous. But worshipers fretting about upsetting their idols leads to never questioning questionable results.

The audacity of wondering if experiments are actually thorough will get you branded as a rather unscientific witch. Uncooperative fellow humans anger the gods and cosmos. As a result, all of us will have to cope with hurled lightning bolts and poor crops. Naturally, zealots will blame climate change.

Save your vaccine receipt for a refund. Oh: so that’s why didn’t use Apple Pay. Some things are free for a reason. Claiming the infection evolved just like the purported cure is one way to cope with results that work as poorly as federal spending.

Nothing embodies lower expectations like being grateful symptoms weren’t too bad thanks to a shot that was advertised as a panacea. Foes of corporate greed who would’ve fumed if Burger King made a Whopper look fuller in an ad than it appears on your tray nonchalantly shrugged off rapidly lowered promises about what was supposed to be an injunction injection.

Glorified NyQuil didn’t quite work as advertised. Take more shots for a shot at mild illness. You can call something you need to get multiple doses of to maybe endure less worse symptoms after you get infected anyway lots of things. You can’t call it a vaccine.

The rapid backtracking on life limits that allegedly kept us from tripping over each other’s corpses in supermarkets is one way of admitting bossy amateur epidemiologists got everything wrong. Your restrictors aren’t about to concede anything directly with words or anything.

Masking mask data is the only way to convince anyone they worked or ever will. They’re so useless that you’d think Amtrak made them. But conceding that muffled breathing only stopped respiratory systems from working properly cannot be accompanied by returning two squandered years, so arrogant pride isn’t the only reason very thoughtful politicians will refuse to concede.

Free markets just happened to be the enemy. Those who scraped by since spring 2020 recall bossy politicians made banning commerce their strategy. There wasn’t much to do for a couple years but ponder why we had been jailed, and ample free thought time is just another unintended consequence created by wardens.

Turn business off and on again to see if it starts working. Kicking commerce until it stopped in the name of stopping a virus that didn’t is just like their other very enlightened philosophies. Economics involves constant calculations about value and cost. You may not find yourself surprised to learn entities with the power to intervene have not pondered benefits and drawbacks of any particular deals. Handouts are empathetic, according to those who make them necessary.

Don’t follow the logic, as that’s unscientific. Once-female sports being dominated by women who were men from birth until the official fired the starter pistol must be not only tolerated but lauded. Noticing how fast girls with Adam’s apples swim might make you conclude that it illustrates the broader patent absurdity of arbitrary impromptu gender switcheroos. People may in fact be born this way. Why help the confused when you can exploit them to flaunt tolerance? Following logic hurts woke science, which involves experiments conducted in manners transphobes harm with queries.

True researchers are indifferent. It’s not the transactions themselves but preventing them from occurring that constitutes the true threat to everything people want and do. Letting citizens figure out how to get what they pursue is unacceptable to gentle planners who need an extra couple trillions to pave roads.

Stability is unwise for those who get everything wrong. Insisting on having government involved in every life matter creates the sort of certainty nobody needs. Clip wings and act surprised when nobody flies. Restrictions on humans offering what they have for what they’d like do nothing but make stupid life on this dumb planet more of an aggravation. We’ve seen the evidence.

But anything looks bad if you pay attention. Ignoring what happens is part of faith. Those who repeatedly and forcefully maintain a devotion to science ironically keep adhering to their shady pastors’ prophecies without results. Liberalism is worse than any random religion, as the latter’s adherents don’t claim to control psychical reality.

Like claiming a restaurant is famous, there’s no need to claim what’s backed by testing is sound. It’s very scientific to cite same. Thinking gesturing to rather biased evidence ends the discussion is like presuming government is supposed to be involved in transactions. Constant failure is supposed to be a sign to alter one’s approach.

The process is ongoing, unlike the notion that it’s not. Continually re-examining conclusions scares those who need the security of finality. I’m sorry life is uncertain, but pretending it’s not is, well, unscientific.
